Tawany Almeida





VCU School of Medicine, Class of 2020



Tawany Almeida is a fourth year medical school going into OBGYN. She is originally from Brazil and moved to Virginia where she went to the University of Mary Washington. She became interested in Human Trafficking when she attended the 2019 Medical Symposium and discovered it was an important cause she wanted to be a part of. As Co-chair of Research, Tawany is helping to design a curriculum on human trafficking for medical students.
