Educating, Enacting, and Envisioning: Responding to Human Trafficking in Healthcare Settings

Human trafficking is a global humanitarian crisis, but with proper training and coordinated effort, healthcare providers have an opportunity to provide support to patients who are being trafficked. In this talk, we will share the results of our emergency department human trafficking training and our current efforts to expand training to medical students. We will then dive into the challenges of moving from training to action using a case-based approach and wrap up with a discussion of overarching goals and opportunities for collaboration.
