Courtney Burns is a medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School. She is passionate about trauma-informed care in medical education and led the successful implementation of this content in Michigan's first-year medical student clinical skills course. She worked in case management at a rural domestic violence shelter before medical school and now aspires to a career in academic medicine, during which she will advocate for the inclusion of trauma-informed care education at all levels of training and practice.
